Sheep Camp Milky Way

On a summer visit to a friend’s home, a beautiful Southern Utah night sky arches over a 1920 sheep camp trailer in his backyard. Evocative of days gone by, a smoky aroma fills the air as a campfire crackles in the twinkling light of the Milky Way overhead.

Sheep camp trailers are still used today by shepherds who follow sheep from pasture to pasture in the Utah mountains during the summer months. Perfectly describing the shepherd’s relationship with his camp, this antique sheep camp is emblazoned with “Home on the Range,” the name of the company who manufactured the trailer, above its front door.
